Kimberley Elting resigned as Orthofix’s president of global orthopedics effective on or about July 5, continuing the rapid turnover of the company’s leadership team since it fired three executives for “repeated inappropriate and offensive conduct” in September.
Elting joined Orthofix as chief legal officer in 2016. Orthofix expanded Elting’s role to chief legal and administrative officer and later to chief legal and development officer. Elting was then appointed as president of the global orthopedics group in April 2022.
In September, Orthofix fired its CEO, CFO and chief legal officer.

Orthofix expects to treat Elting’s departure “as a resignation for Good Reason during a [change in control] Period,” according to a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission. The period covers the 24 months after Orthofix merged with Seaspine at the beginning of 2023. “Good reason” includes any diminution in an executive’s employment position, authority, duties, responsibilities, reporting structure or total compensation after the merger.
Elting entered into a revised agreement in June 2023 and was one of five executives who revised their agreements at that time, including its CEO and CFO. Three of the five executives were fired three months later, and the fourth person left the company in January.
Elting’s resignation follows a series of other changes to the leadership of the company. Orthofix made a series of appointments in 2024 after firing three members of its C-suite in September. Julie Andrews joined as CFO in January. The company also filled multiple roles this year, including a president of the bone growth therapies business, chief people and business operations officer and chief legal officer.
