Total Specific Solutions (TSS), a leading provider of industry-specific software solutions, has announced its acquisition of Irish Medical Systems (Holdings) Ltd, a key player in the healthcare software market known as IMS MAXIMS (“MAXIMS”) in the UK and Ireland. This strategic move marks TSS’s first acquisition in Ireland and its sixth in the region, signifying a significant step in expanding its healthcare portfolio.
MAXIMS delivers comprehensive healthcare solutions for the public and private healthcare sectors in both the UK and Ireland, catering primarily to the acute hospital sector. Their offerings extend to other areas of care, such as community care and mental health services. MAXIMS’ innovative platform is designed to deliver immediate benefits to healthcare organizations with a modern Patient Administration System/Electronic Patient Record (PAS/EPR) that is open, integrated, scalable, and modular.
Martijn Aardema, General Manager at TSS, expressed enthusiasm about the acquisition, stating, “We are pleased to welcome MAXIMS, our first Irish company to TSS.” Aardema acknowledged that while national rules and culture shape healthcare, they continuously learn from companies operating in different countries. He also praised the strong presence that MAXIMS has built in the UK and Ireland under the leadership of Thomas Anderson, Neill McAnaspie, and Jacinta Ni Suaird.
As part of the acquisition, Neill McAnaspie will be taking the reins as Managing Director of MAXIMS, leading the company forward as an independent business unit of TSS. Portfolio Manager Arjen de Wit will also be supporting McAnaspie and the MAXIMS team in their new phase.
Thomas Anderson, former owner of MAXIMS, shared his confidence in the company’s future as a TSS business. He highlighted TSS’s “Software for Life” strategy and their understanding of the cultural differences between countries and industries, which requires a dedicated approach. Anderson expressed assurance in McAnaspie’s ability to guide the company, its clients, and employees.
